Some old school outdoor tech today… but still works perfectly. The fire towers in northern Arizona are an awesome adventure to climb up and talk with the rangers about how they locate fires on these massive plateaus. They use the disc and the crosshairs to basically give a fairly accurate location of the wildfires to the wildland fire crews. Neat stuff.
